Not getting to see you take your first steps
Or say your first words
Not getting to see you go to kindergarten

Not getting to see you to middle school
And you discovering boys

Then high school
And learning the ways of life

Not getting to walk you down the aisle
And see you happy on your day

Not getting to see you grow old
With the one you love

The grandchildren that won’t exist
No chance to be called “Grandma” or “Grandpa”

You should have had the chance to experience all of this
But god decided you would be better off in heaven
