We met on that fateful day
Not so long ago
You may not be here anymore
But you are in spirit

You have changed and altered the course of my life
For the rest of my life
For that I thank you

You were my guardian angel that day
You were sent down from heaven
To protect me and keep me safe
And to sacrifice yourself for others

I did not know you that fateful day
But I know you now
Your family has been great insight to you
And you truly were a gift from god

Your acts of heroism towards others
Your not giving up on god in times of trouble
Has shown me the way
To live a better life

You have protected me in times of sorrow
And have been there where I needed someone to talk to
You were always hold a special place in my heart

You live on in so many other hearts
People you and I would have never met
People who will never forget you
Even though they never met you and I

I know now that you are up in heaven
Smiling down upon me
Helping me guide my life down the right path
Since you cannot live yours
